Kim Hopkins


Kim is a graduate of the UK, National Film & Television School. Kim has directing/shooting/producing credits for: BBC, Channel 4, Discovery, National Geographic and Al Jazeera amongst others. Feature documentaries include: ‘Man In The Sand’ (BBC2 prime-time), a music documentary featuring Woody Guthrie, Natalie Merchant, Wilco, Billy Bragg, Corey Harris etc. ‘Wanted’, a film about Native American reservation cops. Wanted received funding from WDR, A&E Television Network, UK Film Council, The Soros Documentary Fund and the Yorkshire Media Production Agency. It premiered at the Locarno International Film Festival, London Film Festival and Viennale amongst others. ‘Hotel Folly’ (IDFA, BBC Storyville), a film that explores the human cost of the banking crisis. AWARDS!!! Kim teaches documentary film production: NFTS/LFS/St Johns University. Kim was instrumental in setting up the documentary department at Escuela Internacional de Cine y Television de San Antonio, Cuba.
